MV Cruise Net - English Version

Cruises belong to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern like the Baltic Sea, the lakes and the rivers. In addition to sea cruises, river cruises also play an important role. For example, in the period leading up to Corona in 2019, the port locations of Rostock-Warnemünde, Wismar, Sassnitz-Mukran and Stralsund were visited by more than 330 cruises (according to a study by the Kiel Institute for Tourism and Spas Research in Northern Europe). The MV Cruise Net project, initially funded for three years, is intended to establish a network for cruise shipping in the state in order to bundle, coordinate and jointly articulate the diverse interests of the companies and institutions that profit from the cruise industry.

The MV Cruise Net represents a platform for a regular exchange between the most diverse players in the field of cruise shipping. By bringing together the companies and institutions, possible potentials are to be used more intensively. At the same time, better networking and the appearance as a uniform cruise destination lead to a higher perception of the cruise topic. The cruise-specific location of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern is to be strengthened through knowledge transfer, cooperation and alliances. The long-term goal of the project is to expand and establish Mecklenburg-Vorpommern’s image as a national and international cruise destination. In order to achieve this, various topics are being worked on in the network.

Become a partner in the MV Cruise Net

The network is aimed at all interested cruise-related companies and institutions. In addition to ports and shipping companies, this also includes municipalities, transportation companies, shore excursion agencies and partners, as well as all maritime and tourism businesses that profit or want to profit from cruises. You can become a partner in the network for an annual contribution of 500 €.
